Veteran Comes to National for Career Training to Find More Job Stability

Aug 18, 2014

Pam Hamm served her country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard, and most recently worked as a teaching assistant in the public schools, when rumors that her position might be eliminated spurred her to return to school to help her find more job stability.

She enrolled in the pharmacy technician program at the Danville, Kentucky Campus where she is preparing for her new career.  Pharmacy technicians play an important role in retail pharmacies, in hospitals, and in mail-order pharmacies, giving Pam a variety of options for employment once her education is complete.

“I’ve learned more about the body systems, medicine, and how the body works,” said Pam of her pharmacy technician program at American National University.  “I’ve met wonderful people. I feel it is a very, very good school.”

Pam is on course to complete her pharmacy technician degree in early 2015 and she’ll be sitting for her certification exam at that time. She looks forward to beginning her new career and after working in the field, she’s considering continuing her education to become a pharmacist.
