The Danville, Kentucky Campus has named Lexington Urgent Care as a Distinguished Community Employer due to the practice’s strong support of American National University and career college education. Campus director Lee Bowling and director of health care education Stephanie Slone recently presented the award to Dr. Nawar Soda, owner of Urgent Care Centers of Kentucky, which operates six practices in the area, including Lexington Urgent Care.
“You have hired our graduates and you’ve worked with our externs and we greatly appreciate that you do that for us,” said Lee when presenting the award to Dr. Soda. “It gives them the opportunity to get the experience that they need.”
Dr. Soda said that he has taken on externs and hired graduates from the Danville, Richmond, and Lexington Campuses of American National University. “We get a lot of students from National and we hire a lot of them,” said Dr. Soda. “I have to say that out of all of the schools that I work with…we feel that National [students] have been proven to be the most capable.”
At Lexington Urgent Care, Dr. Soda currently employs two graduates and has one extern from the Danville, Kentucky Campus. Jennifer Layton, a 2005 graduate, was recently promoted to office manager of the practice. Read more about Jennifer’s career in an upcoming issue of the National News.
