Florence Campus Student Receives Senatorial Citation
Feb 16, 2015
Daniel Nylund, a medical assisting student from the Florence Campus, recently received a senatorial citation from Senator John Schickel. He received the citation in recognition of his merit as a veteran who has served our country and as a civilian who is working towards earning his degree. Most specifically, he was commended for his persistence through challenging personal obstacles and his inner determination that has propelled him towards his upcoming graduation in the spring.
“Of all the students who have attended the Florence Campus, Daniel is quite possibly the person that has had to overcome the most obstacles,” said campus director Amy Brown. “And through it all, he has utilized the partnership between the faculty, staff, and most of all, his classmates – for whom he has built a strong camaraderie. Those influences, along with his fiancé and mother, will be those cheering the loudest when Daniel receives his degree at graduation.”
“I am deeply honored,” said Daniel of receiving the award. “I can now knock this off my bucket list for getting a citation from a Senator.” You can read more about Daniel’s experience in the medical assisting program here: //www.national-college.edu/news/Army-Veteran-Impresses-Instructors-with-His-Work-Ethic-and-Dedication-20140922-4927
