National College’s Indianapolis Campus to Offer First Bachelor’s Degree Programs
Proven programs in management and accounting offer students additional education options
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Campus of National College (6060 Castleway West Drive, Castleton) will begin offering students two new bachelor’s degree programs in management and accounting beginning the fall term. Classes leading to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree will begin September 5, with enrollment beginning immediately.
“I’m so excited – I’m an accountant by nature,” says Indianapolis campus student Dianne Myers, who is scheduled to receive her associate’s degree in November. She points out that she has been looking forward to National offering the bachelor’s program in accounting ever since she enrolled almost two years ago. “I like the class sizes here…the closeness of the campus. I wanted to add on to my associate’s degree and accounting is where I’m meant to be.”
“We are happy to offer National College’s proven bachelor’s degree programs here in Indianapolis,” says Campus Director Tim Pitman. “These programs will allow our associate degree graduates to continue their education here, as well as offer new students looking to start or resume a bachelor’s degree program the convenience and advantages of a National College education.”
The bachelor’s degree in management offers a solid foundation in business administration with additional background in computers, organization, and business law. Graduates are well-prepared for mid-level executive positions as well as future growth both professionally and academically. The bachelor’s program in accounting provides a thorough education of the technical aspects of accounting and taxation, as well as a solid grasp of business problem-solving.
“Both of these programs have been offered for many years at other campuses throughout the National College system,” adds Pitman.
Like all of National College’s programs, the Bachelor of Business Administration degree offers students small classes, conveniently scheduled to meet students’ busy lifestyles. “National caters to the needs of career students, as well as working parents,” says Kimberly Shepherd, Branch Operations Manager for AXA Equitable’s VA/WV regional office and a 2006 graduate of National’s business management bachelor’s degree program.
Taught by experienced professionals in the fields of business, accounting, and management, the curricula are stripped of non-essential electives and focused on real-world knowledge to prepare graduates for their professional careers. “At National, I took classes in business management, human resources, project management…they were all very applicable to my everyday duties here,” adds Shepherd.
Founded in 1886, National College is dedicated to the training and education of men and women for a full life and a successful career in a number of fields in business, computers, and health care. The College proudly offers more than 30 academic programs including a master of business administration, three bachelor’s degrees, and numerous associate degree and diploma programs. Serving 24 communities through campus locations in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, the College currently enrolls more than 7,000 students.
The Indianapolis Campus, which first opened in 2005, offers eight associate degrees and 10 diploma programs in a variety of fields in business, computers, and health professions. The campus currently enrolls approximately 400 students.
