Military Education Benefits

Many of our staff members have served in the military and know how to best maximize your well-earned military benefits. We encourage all servicemembers attending National College to familiarize themselves with the Office of Military/Veterans Assistance at their local campus. Here, you'll find a friendly team of professionals dedicated to helping you succeed.

Putting your GI Bill Education Benefits to work
National College is approved by the following programs to provide our military members the financial support they need to complete their educational goals:

• Post 9-11 GI Bill Benefits
• Montgomery GI Bill Benefits
• Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) VetSuccess Program - Chapter 31
• Survivors & Dependents Assistance (DEA) - Chapter 35
• Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) - Chapter 1606
• Reserve Educational Assistance (REAP)

Yellow Ribbon Participant
National College has been designated as a Yellow Ribbon Institution of higher learning for the current academic year by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

National College Grants

Blue Ribbon Grant
Provides additional financial support and extends military education benefits. Valued at up to $10,000

• 10 years to use
• Earn books at no additional cost
• Transfer to spouse or dependent
• If awarded, a Blue Ribbon Grant, in certain circumstances, can fund your education costs

Armed Services Recognition Grant
This grant assists eligible military service member students, their spouses, and their children to minimize out-of-pocket expenses. Valued at up to $5,000.00 annually. It is not available for Chapter 33 recipients.

Additional Financial Assistance

Veterans Administration Work Study
Qualified students enrolled at a rate of three-quarters time or greater in a college degree, vocational, or professional program may "earn while they learn" under the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) Work Study Allowance Program. This program is open to all individuals eligible for VA educational programs, not just veterans, and permits eligible students to perform services for the VA in return for monetary allowance equal to the prevailing federal or state minimum wage, whichever is higher.
