Jump Start Your College Credits

National Gives College Credit for Military Experience
Your military training is valuable, and we want you to get credit for it. We will assess the courses you have taken in the military to determine if credits will transfer, saving you valuable time and money.

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium (SOC)American Council of Education (ACE)
National College is a proud member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium (SOC) which means that we are ready to accept regionally accredited credits earned by service members. Military training and other non-traditional courses recommended by the American Council of Education (ACE) are also accepted by National College for college credit.

On top of that, we offer other ways you may jump-start your college credits, such as the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) exams, transfer of credits, and through life work experience and advanced placement testing. We award credits to those who successfully demonstrate competency in specific subject areas.

Credit by Exam (CLEP/DANTES)
The CLEP and DANTES are nationally recognized testing programs that give you the opportunity to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom. These programs make it easier for you to complete your degree more quickly and at a reduced cost.

Transfer Credits
Prior collegiate work from an institution previously attended by a student is accepted by National College only when t is demonstrated that this work is in keeping with career and educational objectives of the student's chosen course of study. Transfer credits are accepted on an individual basis after a complete evaluation.

Life Experience Credit
National College recognizes the value of experiential learning as part of an applicant's overall education experience. These are experiences often gained through the workplace, military, or through public or community experience. The procedure for applying for life experience credit is outlined in the National College catalog.
