Preparing for a Greater Opportunity

Migd Niser is well-prepared for a successful career. He is a full-time student at the Youngstown Campus in the business administration-accounting degree program and plans to graduate in August. Very recently, he became the part-time bookkeeper for a distributor of purses, My Miche LLC, because the owner lacked the expertise necessary to keep up with the accounting aspects of this rapidly growing business. He met the owner of this business on a Friday evening and started working for her the following Sunday!
Migd likes his job. He enjoys the flexibility as he works from any location and meets the owner weekly to review accounts. They use Quickbooks which he caught on to very quickly with the valuable accounting knowledge acquired at National College.
Like his parents, Sakeneh and Jihad, Migd has many relatives that emigrated from Palestine. He started working in his father's grocery/convenience store at the age of 14 and continues working there today. His older brother owns a grocery store and Migd also works there. He has learned a lot from these jobs including fixing a roof leak to stocking shelves and ordering products.
Migd chose to study accounting because he enjoyed an accounting class he took in high school. Since it was relatively easy for him, as well as enjoyable, he decided to continue in the field. He admits to a willingness to sacrifice material objects today for a greater opportunity tomorrow. This 22 year-old has quite a lot of wisdom for someone so young. His parents are very proud of him and he said without them, he doesn't know where he would be today. "They worked hard to make me the man I am."
National College has played an important part in Migd's plans for his future. He advises all accounting students to use the class syllabus and "go to class every week." More importantly, he says, make sure that accounting is the right field. He feels it is necessary to like your work and that a job title and money are not the most important aspects to consider when choosing a career. He also noted that the people who tutor students really know what they are doing and the teachers bring a lot of practical experience into the classroom. He said National College "helps you help yourself."
Migd will be getting engaged on June 20th and all of us at National College wish Migd and his fiancée the very best for a bright and prosperous future!
