Pittsburgh Field Trip

On Friday, January 15th, the Student Activities Council (SAC) at the Youngstown Campus went on a field trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Seventy-five students went on the trip that included the Carnegie Science Center, the Planetarium, and the Aquarium. Participating students were able to experience a simulated earthquake, tour roboworldTM, the world's largest permanent robotics exhibition, and see "Stars Over Pittsburgh."
At Sports Works, students were able to test their strength and stamina by traveling through a virtual simulator taking them through the human body, riding a roller coaster, bungee jumping on a trampoline, climbing a rock wall, and other activities that tested your strength. In the evening, the group went to the Spaghetti Warehouse to enjoy a great Italian meal.
In order to go on the field trip, students had to turn in their resumes to the Career Center, attend a Career Center in-service, and write a one page paper describing their field trip experience.
SAC will be planning another trip soon. These trips are designed for students to adventure out of the Youngstown area, and to experience something new. Jonnie Smith, a health information technology student in her fifth term, said, "I am glad that I had the chance to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience."
