A Second-Tier Trouble Shooter
Sascha Benders (pictured), a graduate from the Information Systems Engineering (ISE) program at the Youngstown Campus, has just been hired full-time by Broadband Hospitality Inc.
The firm provides Internet and high definition TV services to many hotels. Some of their customers include Holiday Inn, the Ritz Carlton, Comfort Inn, and the Hilton. He was called for an interview immediately after applying and he got the job within two days. He started his new job as a second tier trouble-shooter immediately! He said that he was hired as a second tier technician because he had a degree from National College.
The office usually receives 400 calls a day with hotel customers having trouble accessing the Internet or with TV trouble. After he gains some experience and moves to the third tier, he will go into new hotels and lay cables, installing equipment. Sascha said there are many opportunities for growth in this company.
Benefits of this job include a 401(k) retirement plan and health insurance. After one year of employment, Sascha will be eligible for a stock plan in this publicly-traded company. Sascha says he is grateful for his National education: "I really liked my classmates and teachers ...the classes were hard, but I learned a lot. And I really do appreciate the one-on-one help that I got from the instructors at National College."
