Celebrating American Hearts

The Youngstown Campus kicked off American Heart Month on Friday, February 6th with National Wear Red Day. In an effort to help spread the message that “heart disease doesn't care what you wear – it's the #1 killer of women,” students were urged to show their support by wearing red. In addition, the Student Activities Council (SAC) created packets of information on heart disease, distributed red candy wrapped hearts, and arranged for students, staff, and faculty to have their blood pressure taken. Medical assisting student Terri Williams took students’ blood pressure with assistance from Director of Health Care Education Veronica Zurcher.
