National Student/Grad/Instructor Selected for State-Wide Committee

Alan Brie, student in the business administration bachelor degree program at the Roanoke Valley Campus, has been named to serve on an important state-wide Patient Care Committee established to develop professional standards expected of all emergency services personnel throughout Virginia.
This new committee has been charged with developing pre-hospital protocol. It will be chaired by Dr. George Lindbeck of the Augusta Medical Center, who is the Commonwealth of Virginia EMS Medical Director.
Alan was selected to serve on this influential committee by virtue of the fact that he has been professionally involved as an emergency medical practitioner for 25 years and is currently certified as an Advanced Life Support Coordinator. As a member of this state-wide committee, he will be required to travel to Richmond three or four times a year for committee meetings.
Alan also serves as the Program Director and Assistant Department Chair for the campus's EMT/Paramedic Department. He graduated from the campus's EMT/Paramedic program in February 2008 and he expects to receive his bachelor's degree prior to the end of this school year. Congratulations to Alan for this honor!
