Certified Mediator

Roanoke Valley Instructor Kim Kristensen has recently received his certification in Family Mediation for Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court from the Supreme Court of Virginia. He can now mediate conflicts between couples in disputes over their children and child support.
Kim, who also works for the Virginia Department of Transportation, is planning to continue volunteering as a mediator for local organizations such as the Conflict Resolution Center in Roanoke and Better Agreements in Blacksburg. His training, required for certification, clearly translates into more effective teaching, with students as the primary beneficiaries. One of Kim's students has said, "I love being in Mr. Kristensen's class and taking home what I learn and using what I learn on my husband and kids. What he says really works…I love it!"
Kim is pictured mediating with a couple.
