National College's educational programs came to the coal-rich Eastern Kentucky region in 1975. Banking is also important to the local economy, and graduates have found success in these and other business and technical fields. Preparation for medical careers also draws students from throughout the region, including adjacent areas of Virginia and West Virginia, to prepare for their chosen career field.
In 2005, the campus moved to a newly constructed, 11,358 square foot facility built at a cost of $3 million

State Representative Visits

On Thursday, August 5, the Pikeville Campus welcomed 94th District State Representative Leslie Combs as a guest to learn more about National College and meet with students who are preparing for new careers. Representative Combs participated in a game of hangman in Instructor Heather White’s Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement class. While on campus, Representative Combs also discussed Flood Relief for KIDS, a project that provides for children affected by flooding, with Campus Director Tammy Riley. Having just been hit by a flood that heavily affected some parts of the community, it is a very positive thing to have the support of local leaders such as Representative Combs. The campus would like to thank Representative Combs for participating in the campus’s Healthy Fun Fair that was held on July 29th and for everything she has done for the community.
