Opening Doors in Memphis

If you want to know anything about passion, ask LaTonya Bailey. She is one of the Memphis Campus’s first medical assisting students to go on an externship. LaTonya faced some challenges but was determined to conquer them all. There have been only positive comments about her personality and technical skills from her externship site, a local kidney dialysis center. Charge Nurse LaKenya Twilley describes LaTonya as a very caring and enthusiastic person, with a great attitude, very neat and clean each time she arrives at her externship site. She also noted how LaTonya is comfortable with her surroundings and well trained in her skill level. LaTonya has positively affected everyone she has encountered on the site, from the staff to the patients. Because of her professionalism, skills and rapport with the staff, the College has been extended the courtesy for other students to rotate through all of their local facilities for training and possible employment! Director of Health Care Education Effie Tucker said, “Although we were initially allowed only one site, LaTonya and the excellent education she received at National, opened doors for others.” Great Work!
