Workforce Development Luncheons

The Memphis Campus hosted a very successful Workforce Development Networking Luncheon on June 26th with over 30 representatives from 10 agencies. Organizations as far away as Jackson, Mississippi, including SEEDCO, The United Way, the Salvation Army, the Veterans Administration, the National Guard, Career Center Vocational Rehab, Catholic Charities, and others were in attendance. After eating lunch catered by the famous Corky’s Barbeque, a discussion led by Community Resource Coordinator Rise` Reading focused on meeting workforce development goals and how the College can help achieve them. These major agencies had a chance to ask Campus Director Kathryn Scott and the campus’s department chairs about its educational programs. Rise` and fellow Community Resource Coordinator Lucretia Kelly highlighted the available funding through grant programs.
