Students in the Surgical Technology program recently received CPR training under the tutorage of Michael Franklin, Director of Surgical Technology. There were 21 students that participated in the training that was taught by John Sanders from the Memphis City Fire Department. In addition to CPR training, students were also training on Automated External Defibrillators (AED). Students learned that the AED machine recognizes heart problems and tells rescuers when to administer electrical therapy if needed. The participating students successfully completed the requirements of training and received their CPR card. To keep their skills up, students will be required to go through a training course every two years.
