FedEx Field Trip
On Thursday, November 8th, students at the Memphis Campus were invited to tour the FedEx Services World Technology Center (WTC) in Collierville, TN. The WTC is the corporation’s headquarters for the Information Technology Division. Students were given the opportunity to view the facilities which consisted of 8 campus buildings devoted exclusively to FedEx Services with an on site auditorium, several computer labs and conference rooms, a wellness/workout center, and a corporate cafeteria. Students were also given a presentation by the Human Resources staff on the history of FedEx, the benefits of working for FedEx, and helpful hints on how to become an employee. Overall the students learned valuable information, but most importantly they learned that professionalism is the key to success in a corporate environment. The College was invited back to tour again this spring for those who were unable to attend. Thanks to the Student Activities Council for sponsoring transportation for the tour. Thanks to the FedEx Services team, the students are well prepared for success!
