New Author of Children's Books
Martinsville student Joyce Ann Dixon (pictured) has become a published author of a children's book. Her first book is entitled Katie's Tree House and is intended for children ages eight to thirteen. In the book, a young girl named Katie uses her imagination to transform her tree house into different adventures. The publisher liked the book because it stimulates a child's interest, and the material presented provides the possibility of spin-off books. Joyce wrote the book to point out to her children that with hard work and imagination, a person can make dreams come true. "I want children to read it to use their imaginations, and take them where they want to go," said Joyce. Congratulations Joyce!
