Blood Drive
On July 28th, Martinsville Career Center Director Jill Jones organized a campus blood drive with the American Red Cross. Several students, staff, faculty, and the public took the time to donate blood and help overcome a blood shortage in the region. Everyone felt the event was a success, especially because it attracted the participation of nine first time donors. After giving blood, the donors were treated to beverages, fruit, and cake in the student lounge.
Student Mike Napier is pictured with a smile after performing his civic responsibility. Prior to giving blood, he also volunteered as a donor escort, which involved helping and monitoring the donors as they walked off of the bloodmobile.
