President of MURA
Campus Director John Scott was elected President of the Martinsville Uptown Revitalization Association (MURA) at its annual membership meeting on June 26th. Martinsville Uptown is a Virginia Main Street community, and MURA is organized into four committees according to the National Main Street program: organization, promotion, economic restructuring, and design. MURA has received awards from the Virginia Main Street program in 2007 and 2008 for the volunteer hours of its committee members in improving and promoting Uptown Martinsville.
John is pictured presenting an Outstanding Volunteer Award to business owner Fred Martin. He has been an active member of MURA since 2003.
