Exploring New Opportunities

LaDella White doesn't look like your typical "computer nerd," but when it comes to technology, "Whatever's the newest, I want it!" she exclaims. So, the choice for her to pursue an associate degree in computer applications technology at the Madison Campus was an easy one. "I've always loved computers," she explains.
Currently working as a data operator for Cigna, a global health service company, Della uses a lot of the practical day-to-day computer skills she learned at National. "I use all the keyboard shortcuts," she says with a laugh, "every single one of them!"
LaDella plans on continuing her education and pursuing a more technically-oriented career. "I like that at National, if I wanted to come back for something new in technology, I can always come back for refresher courses," she says. The ability to take refresher courses with no additional tuition charges is one of the main things that caught her attention when she first looked into coming to school at National. In the fast paced world of technology, LaDella says that is the key to staying up to date.
She knows from experience that the instructors at National can give her the most up to date and in-depth information. Instructors often work in the field they are teaching so they have real-world experience and knowledge to share with students.
In five to ten years, LaDella sees herself as a manager of a company, and aims to retire in the next twenty. For her, it all started at National, where her education moved her from a manufacturing job and opened more opportunities for a future in a technical career. "I like National," she openly shares, "because it gave me the opportunity to venture out into the world and learn more things. I was able to network with different people and organizations, [something] I had never done before." She looks forward to coming back for more opportunities and catching up on all the latest in technology.
