The Heart of IT

The Lynchburg Campus’s new Information Systems Engineering (ISE) Program was featured on ABC- 13 WSET- TV on the August 7 segment of Living in the Heart of Virginia. Host Tab O’Neal visited the Lynchburg Campus and talked with Institutional Director of IT Programs Tom Jackson about the significance of the program for Region 2000 companies and their employees. With Virginia leading the nation in technology growth and Region 2000 being a key growth area, and with growth in the technology sector outpacing all other sectors, the ISE program now being offered at the Lynchburg Campus is unparalleled. Recognizing the Region 2000 initiatives that depend on network technology, the College is offering unique programs to ensure an adequate supply of information technology professionals to support these and other initiatives aimed at transitioning the Commonwealth’s economy from its historical agricultural and manufacturing base to a high technology, knowledge based economy.
National College, a Microsoft I.T. Academy, is the only college in Region 2000 to offer this hands-on, real world training program which allows graduates of the associate degree program to take COMP TIA certification exams and go directly to work. With access to the latest technology and with field currently becoming outdated approximately every two years, the ISE program offers a tremendous benefit to students of the program and their employers in the region which have an IT Department. Students can be assured of learning the latest technology for their lifetimes with no additional charge after completion of the initial program, other than the cost of books. Additionally, employees of companies that offer tuition assistance may be eligible for the College’s $2 million Business Partnership Grant, which offers up to an additional $1 for every $3 that the company would contribute to having an employee attend National College. Classes begin on September 2 and registration is open at the Lynchburg Campus, located at 104 Candlewood Ct. To get more information, please call the college at 434.239.3500.
