Assisting Kentuckians with Job Placement

The Lexington Campus is honored and delighted to welcome the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as its newest Partner in Education. The local Vocational Rehab group assists Kentuckians with disabilities to achieve suitable employment and independence. They provide a vast array of services including counseling services, vocational and other training services, personal assistance, job placement and retention, as well as technological aids and devices to help people become independent and a part of the workforce. The agency also provides a myriad of employer services including staff development, employment services, applicant pre-screenings, reasonable accommodation support, and a host of other vital services available to today's employers.
The Lexington Campus admissions representatives are now fully trained to recognize individuals who may qualify and benefit from the many offerings of the Vocational Rehabilitation office. Vocational Rehab Counselor Veronica Dale visited the campus this past March and presented a lively and energetic workshop to explain what the organization provides and which disabilities qualify for assistance. Campus representatives are now able to refer current students, as well as those in their initial interview phase, to this agency for assistance. Because of this new partnership, the campus currently has several students who are now being assisted by Vocational Rehab.
Community Resource Coordinator Earlane Cox and Campus Director Kimberly Thomasson are pictured presenting a Partnership in Education plaque to representatives from the Vocational Rehab: (l to r) Tyler Williams, Jamir Davis, Kristen Beach, Earlane,Veronica Dale, Branch Manager Jonathan White, Kimberly, Missy Watts, Margaret Agee, and Leslie Burton.
