One of Many Talents

This week the Lexington Campus would like to recognize Radio and Television Broadcasting student Amanda Wintz. Amanda is 20 years old but don't let her age fool you, she has a lot of interesting and unique experience as well as strong career goals.
Amanda’s interests range from almost every area of creativity including photography, music, modeling, writing, etc. She owns her own photography business called Amanda Zachary Photography and has photographed several regional and world known bands including the widely-known group Good Charlotte. She has modeled for Hollywood Auditions as well as other alternative sites and was even chosen as a model for National College billboards and commercials this past spring. But this only a touch of what she has her hands in. She is the bass player in a rock group named Little Gay Nancy and has performed at Cosmic Fest. She is also writing a proposal for a spin off of the TV show Charmed and is hoping to complete this by the end of the summer.
As if she didn’t have her hands full, Amanda is very involved in different activities at the campus. She is a student tutor; a work-study in the RTB radio station; a computer technology assistant; and the student proctor for the video conferencing lab. She also recently helped organize the Harry Potter book release party and was the brains behind the successful Gaming Night held this past February. Currently she is the President of the Fantasy Book Club in which she is planning a big community book release party in August of the final installment of the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyers.
Amanda says that she loves National because it gives her the freedom to be creative while preparing for her career. She says it is a unique place that allows her to strengthen her leadership skills as well as explore different avenues when she gets the desire.
