On Monday, November 5th, Terry Schmidt, the Service Manager for Direct IS, made a presentation to students in the User Desktop Support Class instructed by Director of Information Systems Engineering Barry Gregg. Mr. Schmidt talked about how their organization is known for promoting from within and they love to hire people who are working on their degrees. People who start out as delivery drivers can and are moved up within the system to information system engineering technicians who then get the opportunity to train others. He also indicated they do mobile diagnostics that require both the use of medical students as well as information system engineering students. Career Center Director Terrye Whitaker is pleased with her new acquaintance with Mr. Schmidt as he could potentially be a great resource for our students.
