Veterans Day 2009
Indianapolis Community Resource Coordinator David Stephens (pictured with a local veteran and Carlene Ashworth of the American Legion Auxiliary) distributed cards and letters to veterans at the Roudebush VA Hospital this past Veterans Day in November as part of the Thank-A-Vet program organized by the Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis. This program recruited children from several local elementary schools, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts to write more than 1,700 cards and letters for distribution. This was the largest amount of cards and letters distributed in the history of the program.
David was appointed to serve as the Thank-A-Vet Coordinator for the Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis. David has been reappointed for this program for next year and praise was given to National College for its involvement.
