HIT Field Trip
On March 31st, students at the Indianapolis Campus in the Health Information Technology program toured the Health Information Services department at St. Vincent Hospital. Department managers Ruth Heinz, RHIA and Janet Linquist talked to students about the industry and shared strategies for success. Students were given a tour of the entire department which included a review of the release of information, coding, electronic health record processing, and chart completion areas. They had an opportunity to observe their future careers first-hand and ask questions.
