Hands-On Scoping

The Indianapolis Campus received a generous donation from Ortho Indy, a perfectly functioning scope tower that is used in scope surgical procedures. These are cases where they put a camera in a patient’s abdomen or in a joint without making large incisions -- the future of surgery. Surgical technology students will benefit greatly from this donation with the hands-on demonstration that the scope will provide.
The donation includes a monitor, printer, shaver, light source, and TPS. They will also provide the cameras, scopes, and light cords to go with it. This donation is worth approximately $25,000.
With this equipment, arthroscopies can be done - a surgical procedure orthopedic surgeons use to visualize, diagnose, and treat problems inside a joint. There aren’t many surgical technology training programs with such high tech equipment. The campus is blessed to have such a great partnership with Ortho Indy.
