Independence Day Celebration

Typically the summer months on college campuses tend to be relatively subdued, filled with fewer activities than each of the Spring and Fall terms - not so this past week at the Indianapolis Campus. In celebration of Independence Day, the Student Activities Council organized a "grill-out" for all students, staff, and faculty. Despite sub-optimal weather, we held two "grill-outs" in order for the day students to eat, drink and be merry, then, later, for the evening students to do the same.
To encourage participation and to be sensitive to the time-commitments of our students, each class took time out for a short "field-trip" to our food area. Critical thinking was needed to decide between hamburgers, hot dogs and other items on the menu. Based on the amount of food consumed, the thinking exercise was highly-successful!
The success of the Independence Day "grill-out" is only increasing momentum, as the anticipated up-coming Campus Carnival, on July 25, is now even more anticipated as result.
