“Machines Need Love, Too”

Susan Meindl (pictured), Humanities Chair for the Dayton Area Campus, participated in the 2009 Literature Film Association (LFA) conference held October 15-18 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She was one of over 100 presenters whose topics ranged from film and literary theory to popular culture. The paper selections were decided by a panel of three professors from Dickinson College, the University of Delaware, and Kean University. Susan delivered a paper titled "Machines Need Love, Too," which addressed the change in attitude toward technology in the "Terminator" film franchise. LFA is devoted to studying m adaptations of literature and the conference is held annually in such diverse places as Kansas City, Missouri, and Ankara, Turkey.
