Newly Designed Career Fair

The Dayton Area Campus recently held a career fair which turned out to be a bit of an experiment. While the campus normally holds its career fairs during the day on Fridays, many of evening students were unable to participate. Upon talking to different companies, however, it was discovered that they actually preferred coming later in the day. So, this most recent fair was held from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM on the busiest class day. Not only did the event have good employer participation, but it also had a larger student turn out than previous fairs.
The campus noticed something else in terms of past graduates attending. Many graduates heard about the event by word-of-mouth. Several came after work as the new hours were more accommodating to their schedules. Some of these graduates expressed a desire to continue their education. The campus plans to keep this new format for the next career fair in January and hopefully expand upon its success.
