City Official Extern

Business Administration-Management student Betty Patterson recently started an externship at City Hall on August 18th shadowing Administrative Officer and Danville Instructor Ed Music, Harrodsburg Mayor Lonnie Campbell, and Chief of Police Ernie Kelty.
During her externship, Betty (pictured with Ed) was interested to learn all about the responsibilities and decisions that the city commissioners, mayor, and city manager must make. She learned that each department has its own regulations that it must uphold and each are their own entity. “I have learned a great deal about management and the education that I received at National with all the business courses have prepared me to be able to participate in this externship.”
Betty went on to say that she learned a great deal from the people she worked closely with at the police station and City Hall. She said, “I have absolutely loved this opportunity.” She would like to personally thank Ed Music for providing the opportunity for this internship. She would also like to thank everyone that she worked with at City Hall and the police station. She said, “God Bless you all.”
As a result of the successful externship, Betty was offered a part time position at the police station because of her excellent performance and professional attitude. Betty will graduate this November. Great job, Betty, and keep up the good work!
