An "Historic" Externship
Danville student Tina Combs recently started an externship with the Danville Boyle County Chamber of Commerce. She is working towards a degree in the Administrative Office Professional program and is enjoying the hands-on experience. She is not only able to apply some of the new skills she acquired through her degree program but she is also learning a lot of new things about her own community. She has been scanning over papers from back in the 1920s and has learned all kinds of interesting facts about Danville including the fact that the first successful ovarian surgery in the world was done in 1809 by Dr. Ephraim McDowell in his Danville office. Currently, Tina is working on a PowerPoint presentation for the Chamber’s 90th anniversary celebration that will be held in January 2009. Congratulations on your success Tina.
