A Personal Career Choice

Danville graduate Jennifer Hodge’s (pictured) reason for choosing a career in the medical field was personal. Her mother died of cancer when she was younger. “The medical field was my first choice when it came to what I wanted to do with my life.” She enrolled in the medical assisting degree and medical billing & coding diploma programs. She said she chose National because of the smaller classes and the friendly atmosphere at the campus.
Jennifer recently completed two externships with Bates, Miller & Sims where she was able to get hands on experience in both the medical assisting and billing & coding fields. She said she learned a lot from her experience and she is thankful for the opportunity to complete both externships at one site.
Now Jennifer is excited to start a new chapter in her life. With a degree and a diploma from National, her future looks bright but she doesn’t want to stop there: “I am going to continue my education and make a better life for my four children, husband and myself…I am looking forward to what my future holds for me.”
