Memorial Fundraiser

In a recent event in the Cincinnati area, National College was represented by an awesome team of golf players. This team of golfers representing the Cincinnati and Lexington campuses of National College participated in an event that represents the spirit and purpose of the members of the National College organization.
The event is a golf outing held yearly in memory of Justin Brittain, Regional Director of Community Development Donna Stoutenborough’s son. All of the proceeds from the annual event go back into our community in Justin’s name in the form of scholarships for young people and adults. This year, the Justin Brittain Memorial Scholarship Foundation awarded $14,200 in May to 11 different schools in our area. The foundation makes a difference to all involved from the auxiliary to the recipients.
The team consisted of Lee Wigginton, Lexington Campus Community Resource Coordinator; Tom Jefferson, Cincinnati Campus Director; Jim Cunningham, Cincinnati Campus Director of Information Systems Engineering; and Jay Cooper, Cincinnati Campus General Studies Chair. The team did not walk away with trophies but they did leave with a good feeling in their hearts that they had participated in such a worthwhile cause. “We were a competitive team,” Tom said, “and special recognition goes to Jay Cooper, our anchor team member, who kept us in the competitive challenge.” This was a fun day and a memorable one as well.
