Finding Help in the Library

Medical Assisting student Meagan Laramy (pictured standing) found a tutor, and friend, in the Charlottesville Campus's Librarian, David Tomlin.
While struggling with a math assignment that involved fractions, Megan reached out to David because she just "wasn't getting it." Although not a math teacher, David put his teaching skills to use to assist Meagan. After working one-on-one with her for almost an hour, he then showed her some tricks on the computer that would help her better understand fractions. "It means a lot to me that he would take the time to help me."
While the benefit of student-led tutoring is available to our students at no extra charge to them, it's not unusual for staff and faculty to go the extra mile to see to it that our students succeed in their program.
