In Remembrance

Students, faculty, and staff recently gathered at the Akron Area Campus to remember Instructor Karen Fresha. Karen began teaching courses in the information technology program in December, 2008. She was an asset to the campus as she was always willing to teach as many classes as needed. In March she suddenly fell ill and succumbed to leukemia. Karen was a dedicated teacher who was thought so highly of by her students and fellow faculty members that she was nominated for the College's Distinguished Teaching Award earlier this year. To honor her memory, a silver maple tree was planted on the campus, and room 119, a computer lab, was dedicated in her name. She was an inspiration to us all.
Pictured during the memorial are student Ramsey Garnica, Director of ITRichard Crislip, and Damon and Eric Mitchell, family of Campus Director Star Mitchell.
