Admission Requirements

In addition to the general requirements of the College, all international students must demonstrate proficiency in English and meet one of the following six (6) requirements:

  1. Complete TOEFL® with a passing score of –
    1. Internet-based test: a passing score of 64 or greater.
    2. Computer-based test: a passing score of 165 or greater.
    3. Paper-based test: a passing score of 500 or greater.

  2. Complete IELTS® with a passing score of 5.5 or greater.

  3. Provide a letter of attestation of English competency sufficient to meet with success in an English speaking academic program. Such a letter will be accepted if received on letterhead from a senior administrator of the applicant’s current or former academic institution or from an academic official with the applicant’s embassy.

    Note: The applicant may, at National College’s discretion, be tested on arrival to the campus using the Michigan Test of Language Acquisition. If test results indicate, National College reserves the right to place the student in the College’s English as a Second Language Program until sufficient English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills are acquired.

  4. Demonstrate successful completion of an English as a Second Language program from any approved ESL school located in the United States.

  5. GMAT minimum score of 500 for applying to the Master of Business Administration program.

Current policies of the U.S. Immigration Department state that international students must prove that financial responsibility will be met. Once these requirements have been met and the student is accepted for admission to the College, an I-20 will be issued. Upon receipt of the I-20 the student is required to complete the form I-901 and submit a $200 fee to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. These students are covered under the institution’s regular refund policy.

National College’s Roanoke Valley, VA campus and its Tysons Corner, VA location which operates as a campus addition of its Roanoke Valley, VA campus are non-residential. No housing or dormitory space is provided by the College, nor are there host family arrangements for undergraduate or MBA students. International students will need to secure their own housing arrangements. Check with the Director of International Programs for housing referrals in the local communities.
