Carmen Bellos

Carmen Bellos is a Registered Health Information Technologist who has been in the health care field for over 25 years. She has served as a consultant, operations manager, and a director in the corporate setting and is also an ICD-10 trainer. Carmen has been honored with the Mentor/Educator of the year award for 2011-2012 from the Tennessee chapter of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She is an instructor at the National College of Business & Technology Madison Campus, where she also serves as director of the Health Information Technology program.

Shalanda Buchanan

Shalanda Buchanan has worked as a pharmacy technician for more than 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and is a Certified Pharmacy Techinician (CPhT). She teaches Dosages and Calculations, Pharmacology, and Pharmacy Practice courses at the Nashville and Madison Campuses.

Queen Couts

Queen Couts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business education from Tennessee State University and a Master of Arts degree in education from Fisk University. She is an instructor of computer science and general education courses at the Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Evelyn Dallas

Evelyn Dallas received her Bachelor of Science degree from David Lipscomb College. She taught in New Jersey, Virginia, and Tennessee in the areas of Secretarial Science and English. Evelyn is now an instructor of English and Administrative Office related courses at the Nashville Campus and currently serves as General Education Department Chair. She also serves as an instructor for the Madison Campus.

Gerardo De La Torre Ugarte

Gerardo De la Torre-Ugarte has been a university professor for more than 40 years. He began his career working as a Chemical Engineer in a mining company and then taught at universities in Peru, Nicaragua, and the U.S. He is now an instructor of chemistry and math courses at the National College of Business & Technology Madison and Nashville Campuses. Gerardo is a Fulbright scholar and was awarded the "Southeast USA Regional Award in Chemistry Teaching" by the American Chemical Society, "The Hubert Smothers Award for Excellence in Teaching" by the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools and Colleges, and the "Distinguished Science Educator Award" by the Tennessee Academy of Science. He was also named "Professor Emeritus" by the National University of the Peruvian Amazon.

Nicole Dietz

Nicole Dietz received an associate degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) and Medical Assisting from Draughons Junior College. She is an instructor for the HIT program at the Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Claire Draper

Claire Draper has worked at a large law firm, the Tennessee General Assembly, and the Department of Justice. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Harding University and her Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt Law School. She teaches a variety of business and general education courses at the Madison Campus.

Sheree Graham

Sheree Graham has been an instructor of healthcare and business courses at National College of Business & Technology's Madison, Tennessee Campus since 2010. Prior to joining the National College faculty, she worked in clinical healthcare for the Hospital Corporation of America. Sheree's educational background includes an associate degree in Medical Assisting from Draughons Junior College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences from Tennessee State University, and a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University.

Joseph Jarin

David Lampi

David Lampi has been an instructor of business and economics courses at National College of Business & Technology since 2006. Prior to NCBT, he taught for 10 years in the Tennessee Public School System and was a Varsity High School football coach for three schools in Tennessee. David has also taught business & economics courses for schools in Kentucky and Michigan, while also coaching football & basketball. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business and economics.

Angela McDonald

Angela McDonald has been an instructor with National College of Business & Technology since 2007, where she teaches Medical Assisting, Health Information Technology, and General Education courses. She also leads a coding clinic each term for students who need extra coding help. Under the supervision of the Director of Health Care Education, Angela is the lead instructor over the Medical Office Assistant and the Medical Office Specialist programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and library science and an Associate of Science degree in health information technology and medical assisting. She is currently an instructor at both the Madison and Nashville Campuses.

Theresa Miller

Theresa A. Miller is an instructor at the Nashville and Madison Campuses. She has professional experience in the areas of business, healthcare, financial operations, educational programming, instructional curriculum design, and administration. She has been in the educational and healthcare arena for 27 years, primarily in the area if medical billing and coding. Theresa began her career as a Certified Medical Assistant and went further to obtain a bachelors degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. She also earned several certificates in the training and development arena and completed a Master of Arts degree in training and development.

Jaime Nguyen
Director of Health Care Education

Jaime Nguyen has more than 15 years of experience working in the medical and health care field. She has a Medical Degree (MD) from MSIH/Columbia University with a focus in global health and preventative medicine, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo where she researched Type 1 diabetes. In addition, Jaime is a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and is currently the Director Health Care Education (DHCE) at the Madison Campus.

Jerry Officer

Jerry Officer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Freed-Hardeman University, a Master of Business Administration degree in Health Care Management from University of Phoenix, and holds licenses/certifications from the State of Tennessee Department of Education; State of Tennessee Department of Health/Pharmacy Board; and the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. He is a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician and is currently employed with Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Nashville, TN. Jerry is an instructor in the pharmacy technician program at the National College of Business & Technology program at the Madison Campus.

Tracy Ross

Tracy Ross has spent over 15 years in financial and operations management for small businesses in the Middle Tennessee area. Her diverse experience and education have provided her with a thorough knowledge of all details pertaining to a company's financial operations and business management. Tracy is a graduate of Tennessee State University with both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting, and a master of Business Administration degree with a focus in management and small business Development. She is an instructor of accounting courses at the Madison and Nashville Campuses and serves as the accounting department chair at the Madison Campus.

Melissa Spoonamore

Melissa Spoonamore is a communications specialist with a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication and minors in English and education from Middle Tennessee State University. Her areas of expertise include: journalism, public relations, media relations, writing and editing, internal and external corporate communications, social media, e-mail marketing, reporting and interviewing, brand management and teaching. Melissa works in the field of corporate communications management and is an instructor of preparatory English and written communication courses at the National College of Business and Technology Madison Campus.

Conchita Vines has 13 years of accounting experience in various industries. Her experience spans working for various Fortune 500 companies as Cash Management specialist, Financial Analyst, and Fiscal Officer. She is currently an International Tax Examiner with the U.S. Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she has been employed since 2008. She is an alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in management. Conchita is an instructor of accounting at the Madison Campus.

Katherine Wheeler

Katherine Wheeler has taught internationally and stateside for over 15 years. She received her Master of Education degree from Framingham State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education and English, and elementary education with a minor in Spanish. She passed the national praxis exams for reading, writing, math, and Praxis II for teaching English and literature. She also passed the praxis in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision. Katherine is College Board Advanced Placement (AP) audited in Literature and Language, International Baccalaureate (IB) Language and Literature, and holds a Counseling Certificate. She is an instructor at the National College of Business & Technology Madison Campus.
