Externships

The National College externship program places students in pre-approved placements to work directly with an assigned workplace supervisor. The placements are in a wide variety of business, healthcare, and computer technology settings. The program is under the supervision of a National College faculty member.

By participating in these programs, students are able to apply the skills they acquire in the classroom in real-world settings. This experience not only helps students gain confidence but gives them a competitive edge as they enter the workforce.

For Employers

Externship benefits include:

  • Gain accesses to a pool of highly motivated, qualified, and prescreened students.
  • See firsthand whether the student will be a good fit for your business.
  • Facilitates recruitment of employees.
  • Fills a temporary staffing need.
  • Allows employers to free-up advanced and experienced employees to focus on more difficult or sensitive projects.
  • At the completion of an externship, externs are trained and experienced potential employees.
